What a tablet WILL do for you and what it WON’T – No one has done a better job of balancing value and price than Samsung, and it shows with the Galaxy Tab A. That being said, there’s a few pieces of information that I want to impart that would’ve helped me decide whether I should buy a tablet or not.

Slower Than Expected – I knew this was a 2019 budget tablet when I bought it so I really can’t complain. I suppose I am more accustomed to sensitivity and response of my more-modern Samsung phone. This tablet screen is not as sensitive as I am accustomed to. I find myself having to press the icons or links considerably harder than on my phone – sometimes 2 or 3 times. This occurs without a screen protector. There is also a noticeable lag afterward which was evident right-out-of-the-box with no background programs running. The screen and colors are bright. The sound is amazing. The price is right but if you can afford a better model, buy it. This tablet is OK for folks like me who are on a tight budget. I only bought to watch Netflix and Prime Video when traveling.

I put my cell phone SIM in and use it as a phone also – When my cell phone started acting up last, I got this product and put my cell phone SIM in it. Work just fine for normal cell phone calls, texting, internet, and everything I did on the phone before. Been making calls on it for many months. Replacing my cell phone with this has been a mixed bag though. I can’t just put my cell phone in my pocket anymore because it’s much larger, but the larger screen is so much nicer when I want to watch a video, browse the web, or really anything. Because it’s larger it’s a bit more Awkward carrying it around rather than tucking it in my shirt pocket like I do with a normal small phone. As for the product itself, I’ve had no problems with it. Handles all everything I use it for with no problem. Videos, internet, etc. Not the greatest camera, but nice cheap tablet. A lot cheaper than similar phones.

Does not connect to cellular data network – Great price, easy to set up – until I tried to connect it to the cellular data network, which is why i gave it a 4 overall. GSM, unlocked, 4G LTE, recognized my sim card but would not connect to AT&T cellular network (and I am paying a monthly fee for that). The AT&T tech tried for over an hour to get it to connect to the network but it would not. I wound up buying a Tab A7 from him – another store did not have it in stock and that is why I ordered this one.
