Works better than a $150.00 option from another manufacterer – I bought a TB4 enclosure from O**** and this one from Sabrent.

A winner – Most products have clearly recognized brand names, making the buying decisions a bit easier between the usually more expensive brands and the cheaper no-names. The buyer’s best advice is usually you get what you pay for. Although not a household name, Sabrent is generally regarded as on of the most trusted brands of this kind of SSD enclosure. So when I needed one this week, but only for one task to clone my computer’s internal drive, I looked for this brand expecting to pay a premium price. I was pleasantly surprised to find this model down in the same price range as some of the ones with the really low ratings. What was I giving up over the Sabrent I bought last year for sixty bucks?

Neat but some things to take note of – I have been using this for some time and it has been fairly reliable. For the price it uses a decent micro controller which allows for both SATA and NVME drives. The speed is somewhat limited these days as many drives can go past 1000 MB/s (even budget ones) but that is more of a USB 3.2 limit rather than a limit of this enclosure itself. The screenshot is of a relatively old drive so that is why the write speeds are slow.

Excellent adapter but short cable (8.5in) – Let me start by saying that I did not buy this for a portable storage device but rather to transfer a Windows 10 install from an SATA SSD to an NVMe drive.

Best I’ve used so far – Dead simple to use, just put in the drive and close the lid. Too it’s versatile since it does both NVMe and SATA M.2 SSDs. Feels rugged and well built.
