      Still haven’t used it – My printer has been in use for a loooong time with the original cartridge still in it. Months ago, it told me toner was low. As others suggested, I removed the cartridge, shook it, and put it back in. It still shows toner low, but the printer keeps printing fine. I ordered a replacement which was out of stock and took a long time to arrive. It’s been sitting on my floor ever since. One of these days I will need it.

      It’s relatively expensive, but it’s no-hassle perfect. – Easy to change on my M31 printer. Rated at ~1000 sheets which should last me to a ripe old age. So tempting to order the generic cartridges, but I was concerned about quality and not fouling the printer. I understand that there is a chip in the cartridge that the printer verifies, but I’m sure the generics have found a way around that. Just didn’t want the possible hassle and ordered the HP brand. Most printer companies follow the shaver sales model: “Give the razors away and charge like hell for the blades!”.
