      What I need but not as large capacity as previous purchase – This is the CF500A version and not the previously purchased CF500AK versions which has 10% more capacity. That was not specified in advertising.

      Update printer firmware if your printer thinks it’s a “non-HP chip.” – This cartridge has a chip in it that HP uses to validate that you paid full price for the real HP cartridge vs. other options. After a quick installation, my printer said “Indicated cartridges blocked for containing a non-HP chip” and I was unable to print.

      Why does toner cost so much? – Because somewhere they figured out it’s a needed product. Somehow I don’t feel the toner cartridges are ever full. But you buy. It does it’s job. You buy again. Such is life.
