USB-C data only? For a 2022 computer? – I’ve been looking for a new laptop. This is the third one I’ve bought, and I’ll probably end up keeping it against my better judgement just because I’m tired of looking. My main issue is that the product listing says this is a new 2022 model. And it comes with USB-C data only. None of my docking stations work with it at all. It doesn’t send video. No charging. It doesn’t recognize etherrnet. It doesn’t recognize a mouse or keyboard or anything besides a USB storage device. Yes, you can use the HDMI port on the laptop and that works fine. And it has two USB A ports for a keyboard and mouse and you can hope you don’t need anything else. And you can pray you don’t lose or damage the charger, because it is of course non-standard. I move between my desk and other areas enough that plugging and unplugging all of the peripherals multiple times a day is not a good thing.

After several laptops that failed, I tried here. This machine has been running strong for about 6 months now of daily use, and I am hoping it stays that way. If there is a sudden failure, I will update this review, but at this point, it is 6 months and this little thing is still going gangbusters without a failure problem that wasn’t solved with an update and a reboot or two. Very standard stuff, and a good sign of a good machine.

meh – Decent laptop specs for a reasonable price. Wish I would have read more about it before purchasing. Not having a backlight on the keyboard makes it difficult to type at night unless your room is well lit (obviously lol). The battery life is only a few hours (3-4)??? I guess because it was used or maybe how I use it. Not sure, but that is a letdown. Then not having an ethernet port is I guess standard. So if you want a decent internet connection you need a USB adapter to ethernet which is about $20. Also, Windows 11 IMO is trash compared to prior versions. Ocassionally, after shutting down the laptop it will take several attempts to power it back on. Holding the power button for several seconds, getting a false start where it will light up, but not actually start. Additionally, the fans will run high randomly. Or rather it’s my just be linked to the temperature in your home/apt. Even though I keep it around 70deg. Other than those issues I really enjoy it and think it was a good deal overall. Certainly is viable for basic web development from my experience so far and multitasking many applications and tabs at once. Efficient for the price, but lacks features I didn’t know I wanted until now lol on me.
