Great after saleS support by LAPRO – This review is for a refurbished T440P that I received from LAPRO.

Refurbished Is The Way To Go – I’ve bought several refurbished IPhones through Amazon sellers and the condition is always top notch. Now that I’m retiring and want my own PC, I found one just like the one I use at the office (I made sure the docking station would match – that saved me some dough!) and found an IBM Thinkpad for much less than new and it works just great! Packaging was excellent, great condition! Everything works just ducky!! I am so happy with my purchase and there’s a one-year warranty in case anything happens during that time. Delighted!

Do not buy a Lenovo computer from this seller! Used-Gadget/Pro Srvc – This is a good rebuilt computer (so far) except for the camera. After downloading all my data from my old computer and installing Office 365 everything seemed great. Until I needed do to a video call…the camera didn’t work. I tried all the tips on line, still no camera! After 1 1/2 hrs. of being on hold and transferred from one department to another at IBM/Lenovo, they would not offer me any assistance unless I purchased a warranty for $199. Since this was a rebuilt product and a third-party seller they would not help me and suggested I call the seller. I called the seller!

FANTASTIC LINUX MACHINE – Needed a cheap, fast computer to install Linux Mint 19 and this machine fit the bill perfectly. The laptop came in perfect condition, I really could not tell it was used. I booted into Windows long enough (after opting into all the required BS just to start windows) to make sure everything works and to update the BIOS. Lenovo has a update tool that should of shipped with the computer but was easy to install. I then booted into Mint Live to test out Mint to make sure everything works and then installed the OS and wiped out Windows FOR GOOD. I would not dual boot unless you are an advanced user, but I quit Windows a long time ago and really like Mint. The install went perfect without any, NONE, issues and boy is it fast! I am thrilled with the purchase and could not recommend this computer more. Also I didn’t use windows for long but if you plan on keeping Windows , it was a full version of Windows 10 and worked on startup, it also seemed fast, but not like Mint! I also saw some folks talking about a touch screen, this is NOT a touch screen. Intel© Core™ i5-5300U CPU @ 2.30GHz × 2, 7.5 GiB MEMORY, 245.1 GB HD, Intel Corporation HD Graphics 5500 (from System Info)

great burner / linux laptop – Having grown tired of using VMs at hackercons and various CTFs, I decided I wanted a dedicated linux laptop. This is a good pick for that. I’m using Parrot Security Linux 4.7, and everything I’ve tested works out of box. Working things I’ve used or tested include wifi, bluetooth, battery charge circutry, sound card, “video card”, both nipple and trackpad mice, webcam, & SD card reader. These all work out of box on a relatively esoteric linux distro. I haven’t tested the fingerprint reader, ethernet, or VGA & display ports. The machine itself runs Parrot linux w/ KDE quite well, with no lag or delays whatsoever during normal operation. I noticed that it does stutter when streaming 4k media, but it only has a 1080p display, which it plays just fine. There are a few quirks such as the annoying location of the Fn button, and the weird power plug which feels just like a usb type a connector. The webcam has poor quality (see attached selfie taken from this machine), but who buys a burner hacking laptop for its webcam? One buying note: I assumed it would arrive with a platter disk or worn-out SSD so I purchased a seperate 500GB SSD to put in for it. After reading some notes it seems like this machine was originally sold with a crappy platter drive, so I assume the 256GB SSD it came with was brand new & part of the refurbishment. I’m not sure about this but if you’re thinking of buying this & factor in the cost of a new HDD for it, that may not be an issue. Assuming the drive it came with was brand new, I would not have bought a seperate drive for it. Overall 9/10, which I guess rounds up to 5 stars.

Great buy – I bought this computer used in 2019 and have used the hell out of it since then .I’ve had zero issues with it and consider it one of the best of deals I’ve ever made.

You won’t regret it! – Bought this as a family laptop and for my wife to do her school work. Our old laptop was simply too slow. Pages lagged and everything loaded very slowly. I am extremely impressed with this laptop. I did a little research on what makes a computer fast and decided on the i5 processor with 8GB of Ram and an SSD instead of an HDD since the SSD makes it faster. I cannot stress it enough when I say this laptop is fast. Start up is fast and programs and webpages load very fast. I’d have to pay over $700 for the same features in a new laptop. I’ve seen some models with the same internals for $1500. Haven’t found a single scratch or blemish. It honestly looks brand new to me. The warranty definitely eased my mind when deciding to take a chance on a refurbished laptop. As long as the quality remains, I don’t plan on ever buying a new model again. The extra $$ just isn’t worth it when you can get a practically brand new unit that has the same fast hardware as the new ones but for way less.
