Okay other than a defective power supply – I was looking for an “internet use” replacement for my wife, as her old tower PC (HP) failed. This refurbished HP Elite 8300 looked to inexpensively fill the bill. The computer was well-packaged and arrived in very good condition. I replaced the small Solid State Drive and the 2TB HDD with the larger SSD’s from my wife’s old computer and started up the 8300. The computer “booted up” as expected, sound and video components (integrated motherboard) performed appropriately, and all provided accessories (Keyboard, mouse, wifi dongle and Ethernet) operated flawlessly. The only issue is/was that the Power Supply fan, when engaged, sounds like a rock grinder. Of course, the fan is not always running, but when it does, the grating sound is overwhelming. Rather than returning the product, I have decided to try replacing the power supply, which is a 320W unit (sort of unusual) exhausting out of the back of the computer. Not wanting to change the airflow, the power supplies that I have on-hand are either lower wattage or exhaust into the tower. Accordingly, I will be seeking to secure an adequate power supply (somewhere) that doesn’t break the bank. I would have given this purchase 5 stars had the power supply operated as one should expect, as everything else presented a “top notch” refurbishment.

Well,,,,,I guess that sometimes…. STUFF…..happens…. – What did I dislike? For one thing, I guess that my package got lost in the shipping. I did get a few days later. What did I dislike you ask? The Packaging WAS TERRIBLE !!! I couldn’t believe it, when I opened it. I can not believe that whoever prepared and send this expensive PC would ship it like that. LIKE WHAT ????? The pc box was just a plain, generic box, It had a big rip on the side. I opened the box,,,,,what I saw was UNBELIEVIBLE,,THE PAGAGING CONSISTED OF.A.FEW.BUSTED UP, VERY SMALL F R A G M E N T S..of LEFTOVER, TRASHED , SKYROFOAM….just on one side!!!, nothing on the other side. The Mouse was smashed to SMITHEREENS,,, it seems like with a Hammer to little tiny pieces. The PC arrived in Fair to Good Condition. My Granddaughter set it up this side of 10 minutes. The PC , at this time and point is running well. It does not come with Bluetooth Installed, they do include a blue tooth usb. As far as cosmetic is concerned,,,This pc looks ok for its age. If you are thinking about buying refurb,,,,wish you well.

Great Buy – This refurbished HP computer arrive well packaged protected by thick Styrofoam The case looks brand new and the interior is as clean as if it just left HP shipping. The computer booted right up, registration was simple and took only a few minutes. Everything about this unit works well, all the usb connections, audio out etc. The included wireless dongle connected to my router immediately. I did not use the included wired mouse because I prefer the wireless logictech mouse I’ve used for years. The keyboard leaves a bit to be desired. I tried it out, everything works but it’s too light and moves too much for my tastes. Also its pretty loud for a keyboard. Overall, I think this is the best money I’ve spent on a computer. As a point of reference my first was a Commodore 64 bought new. Just saying I’ve had some experience with personal computers. Anyway, great computer IMO.
