UPDATED for the performance of the second, *replacement* laptop… – I bought this laptop the first time on July 12th, it came July 14th, basically DOA. I packed it up, left a review, and sent it back, but I ultimately took a chance reordering the same laptop later that day because I still needed a new one. (I’m leaving the original review below.) The second laptop arrived about as quickly, but otherwise has been a completely different experience. Setup took about 2 minutes and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. It’s fast, which was my main concern and why I finally updated to an SSD. It does everything I want and need it to and it does it in about a fourth of the time my old laptop did. The battery is great, the screen is great, for all my purposes, web browsing, zoom meetings, and photo editing. I’m very pleased. I waited to update my review, but it’s been two months and I’m still quite happy with it. I’m willing to forgive the lemon that came first in light of Amazon’s quick and easy returns and since the replacement laptop is working out so well. I did not try to contact HP help, since the first one barely turned on at all and didn’t seem worth the hassle, and the replacement (knock on wood) hasn’t had any problems yet.
