This is awesome!!!! – I work from home and our company pc timeout is less than 10 minutes. It’s nice to use when I need to step away from my pc. It keeps my computer from going to sleep. This keeps the mouse moving when I’m away. This product is great!!!

Does the job – once I modified it. – Okay, this thing is fine, and basically does what it says it will. But it only worked effectively on my optical mouse once I put a thin strip of white tape across the rotating pad. That’s the only way my mouse could detect the movement. A trackball mouse would have no trouble detecting the movement without any modification, but… who still uses a trackball mouse? Still, once the tape was on there, it did the trick and has been going great since. So ultimately I can’t complain too much. The movement is audible, but not loud. If you’re using it in an office setting, it might be noticeable in one of those really muted, quiet offices. But if there’s a fair bit of hustle and shuffle around, this sound probably wouldn’t be noticeable.

The circle that moves the mouse moves half a circle clockwise and then immediately counterclockwise, for the same period of time. So yes, your mouse movement is always the same, which means it IS detectable. Also, it is not the quietest thing, if that’s something that may bother you. I hear it as it’s doing while I’m working on a second laptop while sitting right next to this thing. Last and super minor, English instructions could use some proofing. But then, that’s so common these days that every made in China item has half correct instructions. I’d recommend it if you don’t have time to search for a better product, I just needed something simple and quick to locate, it was literally the very first thing that was listed when I did my search.
