Hard to open lid – This is a bit of a preliminary review until I’ve had it longer and see how it holds up and the battery life. Mostly I’m going to compare it to a Inspirion laptop from Dell as well. What I like about this over the other? Well, the touchscreen! This is my first touchscreen laptop and I think it’s pretty sweet instead of having to touch the pad and then more the curser with my finger. It is limited though, as there’s no way to click and hold or left click… at least not that I know of. I also like how you can plug the power source in from either side instead of being forced to have it on the right or left as you typically are with laptops.

The laptop arrived faulty and didn’t boot – The laptop arrived faulty and didn’t boot, not even when it was connected with the power cord. After calling dell support and spending some time with the tech rep their advise was to ship it back

Professional Laptop – Have had many dells before, this one is definitely the best one, very solid build, metal case is just killing it, NO overheating when working, although during gaming too I dont even hear the fan noise, and 17 inch is awesome, perfect choice for developer.

Stunning Image – Super fast, if not super light – The Dell XPS 17 9720 Laptop 17 inch UHD+ Touchscreen Display, Intel Core i7-12700H, 16GB DDR5, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050, Killer Wi-Fi 6, Window 11 Pro has absolutely beautiful image quality and is super fast. The screen is 17″ diagonal, and the entire panel is 17.5″. There is only the slightest bevel of around 1/8″ of an inch on the right and left side, and less than 1/4″ on the top and bottom. It’s a little heavy at 5.67 pounds, but worth the extra weight if you want the larger screen. Takes a little getting used to opening it without any separation between the screen and keyboard side, but a minor issue. The battery length is above average, and not exceptional. There is some bloatware that needs to be removed. The four USB-C ports should be plenty for most people. If additional storage is needed, the full-size SD card reader makes it easy. Overall, very happy!

Buena Laptop – La computadora funciona muy bien. Comparada a un i7 que tenía, procesos que tardaban en resolver, por dar un ejemplo, 30 minutos ahora los resuelve en 10 minutos. La pantalla muy bien. Es una computadora muy silenciosa y que no calienta casi nada. Yo no la uso para juegos, sino para trabajo en modelado de estructuras con software como Revit, AutoCAD, ETABS. El Windows 11, es algo inestable aún. No le pongo 4 estrellas porque en la descripción dice 32GB de memoria y la enviaron con 16GB. Lamentablemente la memoria de DELL es extremadamente costosa (a pesar que sólo le pegan la calcomanía a la tarjeta, porque obviamente ellos no fabrican ese tipo de componentes). El soporte en Línea de DELL es muy bueno y se preocupan de que todo se aclare bien y se resuelva.
