How hard is it to replace the RTC battery – If you get a time not set error on boot up, it is because the refurbishers were too lazy to install a new very common and inexpensive CR2032 battery for the real time clock. You need to remove some memory sticks to have enough room to replace. It would be a lot easier for the refurbishers to do before installing the memory. Other than that, its a good deal for a number cruncher, or data storage. The limited expansion slots and the barely adequate power supply eliminates this as a inexpensive gaming machine. I added a half height video card to run three monitors, but frequently get an out of memory error after running an older flight simulator for more than half an hour.

Good while it lasted, and I’m going to make it better. – So the PC came and I used it for about 4-5 months, then the Machine would randomly reboot, and freeze with lights 1 and 3 lit up in the front. I called the tech support and they directed me to reinstall windows, and to reset the system Bios, an a few other items (that didn’t work) then they finally replied with “it sounds like something wrong with the power, and it’s past the 90 day warrantee” and that was it. 🙁

Yeah, I owned it 6 days… And I need to return it. – Simply put, I’m gonna have to return this. It’s a great little piece of equipment, and it worked okay for 2 days… But let’s start at the beginning. I got it, and didn’t set it up for two days, then I set it up when I got the desk… First it didn’t want to start until I worked with it, took a day and a night to actually get it to work, not fun but not horrible. So I got on, installed my favorite online game (totally safe as I have played a ton before) and I emailed myself some pics for my backgrounds over gmail, “couldn’t get the email itself to work, had to go through the internet to get to it, not through the mail app already on the computer” not a biggie. 2… count them 2 days later it glitches out and shuts down, I like any normal person try to wake it back up…. Only to get a Preparing Automatic Repair error. Now I had no idea what that meant, so I assume that it’s like any normal error I have ever had on a pc before, look it up online on how to fix it… And low and behold. It is unfixable by any normal person, I can’t fix it because I am not tech savvy enough to do so. It’s a no fault of my own error that either has to do with the motherboard, or a partition inside the computer, either way it needs to be opened up like a computer surgeon and reset, all of which I can’t do. So 3 days ago I contacted the seller, still haven’t received an answer, so at this point, with the fact I only owned it 6 days and used it maybe a total of 2, and didn’t get to really do much with it, I’m gonna return it and pray that they give my money back. Don’t buy refurbished unless you know who you’re actually buying it from. Now I’m hoping my Sister’s BF will help me find a good gaming laptop… Just goes to show, you can’t always trust good reviews. I’ll edit as this saga goes on. I won’t be returning it until I get home tonight from work and box everything up. I am both mad, and very very sad as this was going to be my outlet to the outside world and a way to help overcome my anxiety… ‘Sigh’ just added more anxiety to myself. Get new, or get from someone you can actually trust.
