Amazing performance and value for very little money – This is the second of these refurbished Dell Latitude E7470 Touchscreen Ultrabooks with Intel’s Core i7-6600U 2.6GHz processor, 16GB RAM, a UHD display and a 512GB SSD that I’ve purchased over the last 4 years. The first one ended up with my grandson when he needed a laptop for school, and the second, the latest, I have set up with a custom Linux Mint 20.3 installation replacing Windows 10 that I use as my work station machine.

Refubishment careless – Purchased this laptop expecting a fully functional, completely checked out, and essentially like new computer. It arrived looking very good but the battery did not work at all. While the company did reimburse me for the cost of a battery without complaint it left me wondering what else had not been checked out. Soon enough I found one pixel line near the top of the page was not functioning causing a white line across the top of dark-colored pages. Having invested a lot in moving data and removing and installing programs I have chosen to take my chances on future problems. While I do not condemn Amazon or the seller I am less than satisfied that we hold the same definition of “refurbished”.

Very good value – I’ve only had the laptop for a few days, but I’m very pleased with my purchase. It arrived well-packed and in excellent condition. I was familiar with this model as I had used one at work previously. I appreciate that it was compatible with the older docking station I already had (does not use a Thunderbolt docking station). I was surprised to see it came with an M.2 NVMe SSD, as I was expecting an M.2 SATA SSD (NVMe allows for faster reads/writes). It came with a single 16GB DIMM, so I can update to 32GB RAM if I so desire (the Dell documentation states 16GB RAM is the max, but I’ve heard it actually supports 32GB).

A smart buy – These laptops are new but no longer have dell warranty or support as they were purchased in quantity in 2017 but never used. They are equipped with a smart card slot for higher level of security for user access authentication. I can only speculate but probably was purchased for use by governmental entities. This is a great buy and it has every upgrade dell had to offer at time of manufacture. Love the backlit key board. The touch screen has 4k resolution as well. 512 gig ssd was a pricey item in2017 as well. It’s got a lot of balls and the price is absolutely right. You can’t buy a brand new 2022 manufactured laptop with everything this has without paying 800 bucks or more. I’m a happy camper!!

It arrived promptly and was very well-packed. Indeed, I don’t see how it could have been packed any better. And it has worked flawlessly! See the attached photo of Saturn I got early in the morning of August 18. I couldn’t be any happier with the purchase of this laptop computer.
