Excellent computer, major upgrade from my last one – This ASUS D500SC computer is a major upgrade from my last computer, which was a 9-year-old Gateway All-in-One. The ASUS is super quiet and lightning FAST (I used to wait forever on my old Gateway). I’m not a gamer so I can’t comment on whether it’s good for that or not. I’m a writer and a guitarist (check out my books ‘Red Zen,’ ‘How to Become a Guitar Player from Hell,’ & ‘Mathematical Bliss’ on Amazon) so I mainly use my computer for writing books and recording my own music tracks (check out my machguitar9 youtube channel where my Slonimsky pattern videos are somewhat popular). Although I haven’t connected my recording equipment (audio interface and digital audio workstation) to this computer yet, I’m sure it has more than enough memory and CPU power to handle it. So if your computing needs are similar to mine, give the ASUS D500SC computer a try, you probably won’t be disappointed.

2021 Model Year D500SC-AB504: Good Parts, No Optical Drive, Little Room, Unstable BIOS – I really like ASUS products for the parts and longevity. Unfortunately, this model does not meet its intended demographic of business users. There are some quality of life problems that make this machine not the best for enterprise deployments. This is for the 11th generation model D500SC-AB504. From the start, there are pictures included of the front, back, and interior as they are slightly different than the 10th generation model.

Works as promised however no optical disk drive and no option given. – No optical disk drive and no option given. Amazon needs to note this information in the product description page. Called ASUS to purchase optical disk, they couldn’t even give me a part number and sent me to 5 different departments with no help given. Could not even suggest a compatible optical disk drive (internal or external). Very disappointed with ASUS’s so called customer service.

PC great, delivery some problem – Ordered on 12/23/21 to replace office, not gift, mainly because specs and price were perfect for me but also because it was promised for delivery next day, 12/24. I realize it is Xmas rush, but you expect an honest estimate. I paid extra for delivery, but tracking found delays, then delivery by 25 or 26, which I found hard to believe, then would I like to cancel. Chatted with reps and finally wound up cancelling original order on 12/27 and replacing it with next day delivery reorder. It did come the next day around noon and setup was pretty good. surprised that it boots from a cold start almost instantaneously, not used to that, and pulled a lot of files automatically from the cloud which saved me some grief. One unexpected issue surprised me when there was no DVD drive included; considered this virtually automatic with new machines, but had to go buy an external DVD burner. Others have reported lack of a display port which I don’t need, but specs usually report it to have one. But its up and working, fast, great for some gaming and work tasks. I would recommend it if delivery suits your needs. P.S., I did manage to get a credit for the delivery charge although it was an Amazon shipping credit and much of what I order regularly doesn’t come from Amazon directly so that doesn’t help me a lot.

Bargain with a flaw – This iteration of the Expertcentre is an amazing bargain for the price, the specs speak for themselves.
