Replace the CPU fan! – Maybe I can save someone else the trouble I went through.

      – I could not be happier with this PC. I bought it for my company and it’s everything I hoped for. It’s fast, quiet, and boots up instantly. I got it during the prime day sales for around $550 so it’s even better. Small, compact, but powerful. I should have bought two!

      – Price was ok for this, a bit more than same models with the 1tb hard but you get the sad instead. I had extra drives so I popped in an extra 1tb and a mini GTX 1050 2gb. It has all the Modern connections and good performance, it is a small box and although it shows room for a 2nd traditional hard drive, I found it way to tight to try and put a 2nd 3.5″ drive so I just used the 512gb side, and 1 spare 1TB had. You might be able to get the 2nd had in there is it is a 2.5″, but if you have a GPU upgrade that is a larger model you likely won’t be able to fit both, it will be one or the other unless the GPU is a mini model. I would like 32gb of memory instead of the odd 12gb pairing, but compared to other computers of the same configuration, the cost was very good and upgrading later is a suitable option. The only thing I question is the listing said VR Ready which I do not believe the onboard Intel video is capable of meeting the minimum requirements of since you need at least a dedicated GPU minimum of a GTX 1660 which you have to buy separately. The inclusion of the mouse and keyboard are nice starters but they are very cheap quality. Another thing was the case did not have thumb screws so you have to use a screw driver. The build quality of acer is not as good as some others like Dell, but it is light weight and the price is very good. Acer other models with GPU and gaming case but same specs are easily twice the amount for the same configuration. So it’s well worth it.

      – Good value (picked up on Prim Days for $599). Would be a 4/5 except for the fan noise. Sounds like a car engine revving and crazy loud. The fan rarely comes on and is nearly silent, except when being taxed by something, so it’s somewhat tolerable….. so probably not going back, but I may investigate trying to find a higher quality compatible fan replacement. Everything else works as expected. Looks capable of adding one hard drive and 1 RAM chip, but internal expansion options appear limited beyond that, as others have pointed out. Given its limited upgrade capability, the size is rather unnecessarily bloated. The included keyboard and mouse are both wired and ok quality, but likely few people will use them. I personally would rather save a few $.

Glitchy setup, but keep at it – I just got this set up, so the only thing I can rate is the appearance and the setup. Very nice looking box, no instructions with it. I had my own wireless keyboard and mouse; if you’re planning to use the wired ones that come with it, they are small and cheap. There is a port on the front that I have no idea what fits in there, but okay. Odd that it comes with a DVD drive, I thought that was pretty old-school. Two HDMI outputs for monitors; I had an old monitor so I had to get an “HDMI to DVI” cable, no biggie, works great.
